We are at war.

This war is going to be a test of Tocqueville’s confidence that democracy, American style democracy, would displace aristocracy.

Will 1776 prevail against the the rebranded aristocracy of the Bolshevicks whose center of gravity is Beijing?

I agree. I do not want to reach that conclusion, but there it is, staring us all in the face.
